Teeth Whitening methods were developed as a way to cleanse your teeth of stains caused by bacterial pigments. Several methods are available to help whiten our teeth and help to make our teeth impenetrable by tooth germs. Brushing your teeth with lemon juice is a long thought of natural remedy for whitening our teeth. However, it has been shown that lemon juice can strip tooth enamel of calcium, effectively weakening the protective layer of your teeth.

Wood Ash, or Lye, has been used traditionally for help in whitening teeth. The potassium hydroxide found in the wood ash is an effective bleaching agent. However, over time the potassium hydroxide will wear down the enamel layer, causing detrimental decay to the tooth.
