Once upon a time the only way to get your teeth whitened was to visit your dentist for a treatment. This was because few products were available to the consumer which provided results. However several problems exist with taking time to visit the dentist for teeth bleaching (a.k.a teeth whitening).

First, a single visit to the dentist can be expensive. Most whitening procedures are not covered by insurance, so this is an out-of-pocket expense.

Second, taking the time out of your own schedule to visit the dentist can be costly. Not only do you have to abide by their schedule, but it interferes with your own activities, whether work or play.

Third, one visit is typically insufficient for a proper whitening treatment. Often times, two or three visits are necessary to get your teeth whitened the proper way. More visits could be required if you have hard to remove stains on your teeth.

Today’s teeth whitening products are starting to replace the need to visit the dentist for whitening treatments. The cost of the products is typically less than what the numerous dentist visits would cost. In addition to being cost effective, the treatments can be done in your own home and a time which is convenient to you.
