Teeth Whitening

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Having a bright smile and white teeth has long been symbols of intelligence, self-esteem and good health. Many people judge others by their teeth, and not just in the acting and modeling industry. However, regular treatment at the dentist can become costly, not just financially, but also in time consumption.

One of the other problems is that the peroxide used by dentists can be painful to people with sensitive teeth. There are a few products on the market that are made with these people in mind. Therefore, it is important to research products before deciding which one to use. Trial and error may be productive in determining the suitability of products, but this method can become costly as well.

Having a white, bright smile has been shown to be helpful in establishing and maintaining a high self-esteem and confidence level. When you don

Laser Teeth Bleaching: Is It Worth It?

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

The market for teeth bleaching has taken off in recent years. As a result, people are always on the look out for newer ways to get a whiter smile. Peroxide bleaching has become a very popular method for delivering the results. However, you need to decide if this method is best for you before investing you money into it.

A typical treatment begins with a thorough teeth cleaning to remove any plaque. Peroxide gel is then applied to the teeth and a laser light is applied. The laser helps to speed up the process of the bleaching, so after an hour of treatment the teeth can get 9-10 shades lighter.

Before considering any form of cosmetic dentistry, such as prosthetic teeth, crowns, bridges, dental veneers you will need to get your teeth whitened or the prosthetic teeth will not look natural.

Laser teeth bleaching is a simple and quick solution, but it is also very costly. Most people require multiple sittings, and the more stained and yellow your teeth, the more sittings you will require. In addition, prices vary depending on the dentist and the location of their facilities.

Due to the popularity of a whiter smile, readily available products have improved and may be a more appropriate option for getting that bright look.

Is Dental Teeth Whitening Better than Home Based Supplements?

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

The question as to whether dental teeth whitening is better than home products needs to be answered in a different way than a simple yes or no. While both options are good, you need to make your decision based on your own personal preference while taking into account several factors.

The first factor to consider is the convenience factor. Going to the dentist requires having time. Not only to get to the dental office, but you will need at least an hour for treatment, not to mention the time in the waiting room and the pre-whitening cleaning. Whereas a home treatment product can be used at your own convenience, at a time which is acceptable to you.

The second factor to consider is the monetary factor. This tends to be the major factor when considering which path to take. A single whitening process visit can start at $400 and can increase depending on the dentist and area of the office (in other words, the cost is subject to change). Home use products are far cheaper and can be found either in drugstores or on-line.

The third factor is the time factor. Not only can you have a busy day without the ability to schedule in a visit during operating hours to the dentist, but some whitening products need to treat for various times. Some simply need minutes, while others are designed to treat for hours.

Either way you decide to go, be sure to research an make the decision for yourself.
