Some people may experience sensitivity to peroxide, especially in the gum area. There may be some discomfort or a temporary burning sensation that ceases once the peroxide solution is rinsed out.

Keep in mind that hydrogen peroxide will not whiten teeth that have had previous dental work, including artificial teeth and fillings. This is because the peroxide cannot penetrate the surface layers to remove the stains.
