With the growing popularity of teeth bleaching products on the market, more people are beginning to wonder if teeth bleaching is right for them. Questions are also arising about the safety of teeth bleaching,

Almost every teeth whitening product you can find uses the same kind of ingredient called carbamide peroxide. The difference is that companies will offer different strengths of the peroxide, and having too much could cause problems. Most people will want to make sure they stick with 10 % carbamide peroxide, especially if they have a tendency to tooth sensitivity.

The biggest problem you will face in the teeth bleaching process is that extra sensitivity to hot and cold liquids. And you might even feel some pain when you breathe in some cold air if you have used too much peroxide. The reason your teeth get sensitive in the bleaching process is that the chemicals make your teeth a little more porous, and these tiny holes allow air and liquids to have access to your nerves.

You can increase 4-5 shades of brightness based on how much whitener you use and for how long you use it. Using trays and peroxide, it can take up to 2 weeks to see four shades of whitening.

There are so many kinds of teeth whitening products and systems available in the market today. A person can have different options as how he can approach tooth whitening.

A person who wishes to have whiter teeth must know more about the concept of teeth bleaching and teeth discoloration. Some factors that can influence this include the person’s age, eating habits, genetics, smoking, drinking habits as well as the person’s dental hygiene. Once a person has set a teeth whitening system to use, it is good to stick to that plan until the desired teeth color is met.

The first essential tip to achieve whiter teeth is to start avoiding food and drinks that can cause the teeth to become discolored. Some of the biggest causes of teeth discoloration and staining include the nicotine from cigarette, cola drinks, coffee as well as tea. It would be best if smoking and drinking dark beverages are stopped. If these things cannot be avoided, then the individual should learn how to rinse his mouth after every time he drinks colored drinks or smokes.

Another important element that can help a person have whiter teeth is water. Plain water can do much for a person who wants whiter teeth an, at the same time, prevent more teeth stains. It is important to drink plenty of water, not just after every meal, but also after every snack. If a person smokes, then he must ensure that he rinses his mouth with plain water after every smoking session. This does not only help get food particles out of the mouth but it can also rinse the mouth of colored liquids.

Foods like apples and potatoes discolor your teeth while tobacco, tea, coffee and soda causes yellow or dark teeth. Even the medicines you take can also discolor your teeth along with dental trauma and genetics. Yet, the majority of people are content with the appearance with their teeth and strictly follow constant tooth brushing as well as flossing. Still, with the growing awareness of people to the very detail of their appearance, many desire to have brilliantly white teeth.

Here are some precautions to bear in mind when considering teeth whitening.

1. Most bleaching agents contain carbamide peroxide which could irritate your gums and mouth if it is too strong or left in contact with your skin for long time.
2. The typical amount of peroxide in bleaching gels is between from 15 % up to 25%. If you likely have mouth irritations like bleeding or tender gums, you perhaps go for either shorter process or weaker mixture. Of course, such limitation reduces the effectiveness of teeth whitening.
3. Prior to application of bleaching gels, paint-on or strips, ensure to remove food particles as well as oily films first by tooth brushing since such factors lessens the effectiveness of whitening bleach to breakthrough the stains.

Once it was the preserve of the rich and famous but with the advent of home teeth whitening kits everyone can now take advantage and achieve that winning smile.

Over time teeth can and will become discolored, which leads to an unattractive smile. The main causes of this can be diet and or age. While we cannot stop the ageing process, or prevent what we eat discoloring our teeth. We can help to eliminate the effects, once you have decided to take action.

Before they became converts to the benefits of teeth bleaching, many users claimed that they were very dissatisfied with the color of their teeth, but were naturally concerned about the use of teeth bleaching, as using anything for the first time can be daunting.

The main problem is that people feel yellowing teeth age them. Some have said that, even though they knew that their teeth were clean, they did not look clean and this stopped them from smiling regularly. Unfortunately this can have a very negative effect on our well being as smiling does lift our spirit and makes us feel better.

With the new, easier to use teeth whitening kits, you do not have to put up with these problems any more, the kits come with everything you need to start to regain that celebrity smile and feel better about yourself.

There are two types of teeth discoloration. Extrinsic teeth stains are discolorations caused by external factors such as smoking, drinking and aging. The dirt or discoloration is on the teeth enamel. This means that the original tooth is okay and with removal of the dirt, the teeth should be back to normal. If the extrinsic stains are mild, you can remove them by simple dental processes such as brushing your teeth or prophylactic dental cleaning. On the other hand, if the strains are strong, you may require other more forceful treatments such as teeth bleaching.

Intrinsic teeth stains are stains that form from within your teeth. Such stains can be caused by teeth being exposed to tetracycline and other related minerals especially during teeth formation. Taking a lot of fluoride in your diet also causes intrinsic stains.

As one grows older, their teeth get more discolored because of the regular food stains and due to wear and tear. This is a natural aging process. However, dentists advise that proper dental hygiene will maintain your teeth color for longer.

There are various foods that affect the color of your teeth when taken excessively. These include cola, wines especially red wine, carrots, coffee and other strong color foods and beverages. Certain foods such as fruits with a lot of citric acid may also cause discoloration. Smoking is also a major cause of teeth discoloration.

One of the stigmas of today’s society is the emphasis on the need for a perfect smile. As a result some people shell out thousands of dollars to do whichever procedure is necessary to have the perfect pearly whites. Some become mind boggled between the decision of laser teeth whitening or bleaching as they do not know which one would be the best and the most effective. Both processes lighten the color of the teeth without doing permanent damage.

Bleaching the teeth is the most common method. If this is what your dentist has recommended then it done in a number of sessions. The initial application is done at the dentist’s office and the other applications can be done by you in the comfort of your home. When bleaching the teeth the gum is first covered with a rubber shield or a gel to protect it then a product with a hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide base is applied to the teeth with the use of a special tray that has been molded to fit the teeth. This is left in place for a few minutes and then removed. It can take up to four weeks to get the desired result.

Laser teeth whitening, also referred to as power whitening, is the leading teeth whitening procedure on the market. The preliminary steps are similar to bleaching in that something is applied to protect your gum. A blue seal is used. Then the peroxide based gel is applied to your teeth but a tray is not used. What happens then is that your mouth is held open with a cheek retractor and a laser is used to speed up the process. The end result is teeth that are six to eight times whiter than before.

The desire for white teeth results for the inclusion of whitening agents or bleaching agents to toothpaste, rinses and bleaching kits to achieve whiter teeth. In fact, manufacturers are paying expensive commercial ads in television that showcase products that whiten teeth. True, white teeth compliment to beautiful smile.

Many people are turning to whitening methods, such as teeth bleaching, in order to get the perfect smile. Going beyond simple dental health, the cosmetic appearance of one’s teeth is something that is a serious issue. Our culture can make people feel insecure about their teeth, even if they are healthy. While one may be completely free of cavities, many factors can lead to the darkening of one’s teeth. Tobacco products, coffee, and certain foods can darken the enamel of our teeth. However, even if these products and activities are avoided, teeth naturally darken over the course of one’s lifetime. The minerals that make up a tooth’s enamel change over time, and this leads to a darkening of the teeth.

Two types of gels are used for dental whitening. The low concentration gel is normally bought as an over-the-counter product for home use. The lower concentration means that there is less risk of any burning, but it is also greatly less effective than the high concentration gel used by professionals. However, as a method for cheap teeth whitening at home, it is only a somewhat effective method, though it is not as effective as the high concentration gel used by professional teeth whitening experts

Due to the increase of over the counter teeth whitening products there is an increased fear among users that teeth bleaching may not actually be safe. This fear is often contributed to old techniques from the eighties that did in fact destroy enamel when used in excess. However, recent studies have shown that in current teeth whitening products although there may be slight, temporary, sensitivity side effects, for the most part, teeth whitening products only pose a threat if they are misused or if directions are not heeded.

Most over the counter teeth bleaching products contain only a 10% percent concentrate of the active oxidizing agent carbamide peroxide. While it is possible that excessive overuse can result in some damage to teeth, the amount of treatments that one would have to perform on their teeth to reach this level is virtually impossible by any consumer who follows directions.

Over bleaching of the teeth can lead to a slightly gray translucent discoloration in the corner of the mouth. If this starts to occur, it should serve as a warning sign that a user should stop using the bleaching product before they cause permanent damage.

In addition, a small amount of people may experience increased gum sensitivity if they leave the mouth guard on for excessive periods of time or if the mouth guard does not fit properly.

The only other main concern associated with teeth whitening products is focused on smokers who use the products since the smoke and peroxide combine to form a mixture that has a negative effect on dental tissue already damaged by smoking.
