Laser Teeth Bleaching: Is It Worth It?
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010The market for teeth bleaching has taken off in recent years. As a result, people are always on the look out for newer ways to get a whiter smile. Peroxide bleaching has become a very popular method for delivering the results. However, you need to decide if this method is best for you before investing you money into it.
A typical treatment begins with a thorough teeth cleaning to remove any plaque. Peroxide gel is then applied to the teeth and a laser light is applied. The laser helps to speed up the process of the bleaching, so after an hour of treatment the teeth can get 9-10 shades lighter.
Before considering any form of cosmetic dentistry, such as prosthetic teeth, crowns, bridges, dental veneers you will need to get your teeth whitened or the prosthetic teeth will not look natural.
Laser teeth bleaching is a simple and quick solution, but it is also very costly. Most people require multiple sittings, and the more stained and yellow your teeth, the more sittings you will require. In addition, prices vary depending on the dentist and the location of their facilities.
Due to the popularity of a whiter smile, readily available products have improved and may be a more appropriate option for getting that bright look.

Dazzling White Beaming Smile
Monday, March 29th, 2010A smile is one of the most influential expressions in our arsenal. But having stained or discolored teeth can lead us to feeling shy or apprehensive about flashing a smile to others. But thanks to popularity of improving our pearly whites, several teeth whitening systems are available.
Before choosing a teeth whitening product, it is important to investigate the various types to determine which type will be best for you, both with success rates, ease of use, and time consumption for proper application.
A simple start for teeth whitening would be to look for toothpaste which incorporates a teeth whitening formula. If you need something stronger, look for whitening gels and trays.
For particularly difficult stains, perhaps a product with peroxide will work best for you. This week acid oxidizes the stains caused by bacteria, providing a mild bleaching action. However, be careful to follow instructions, as overuse can cause a breakdown in the enamel of the teeth, which can lead to failure and cracking of the teeth under strenuous circumstances.
Whichever method you choose, it is important to maintain a healthy routine of oral care, including brushing and flossing, in addition to proper maintenance at the dentist for proper cleaning and fluoride treatments.

Teeth Whitening vs. Teeth Bleaching

Teeth Whitening: 5 Ways to Stop Wasting Time and Money
Friday, March 5th, 2010Once upon a time the only way to get your teeth whitened was to visit your dentist for a treatment. This was because few products were available to the consumer which provided results. However several problems exist with taking time to visit the dentist for teeth bleaching (a.k.a teeth whitening).
First, a single visit to the dentist can be expensive. Most whitening procedures are not covered by insurance, so this is an out-of-pocket expense.
Second, taking the time out of your own schedule to visit the dentist can be costly. Not only do you have to abide by their schedule, but it interferes with your own activities, whether work or play.
Third, one visit is typically insufficient for a proper whitening treatment. Often times, two or three visits are necessary to get your teeth whitened the proper way. More visits could be required if you have hard to remove stains on your teeth.

Factors that Play Down the Significance of Teeth Whitening Strips
Sunday, February 28th, 2010An unhealthy lifestyle, consisting of unhealthy food can lead to an unhealthy mouth. A not-so-healthy life can be an open invitation for bacteria which can leave pigments in the mouth causing stains and discoloration of your pearly whites. In order to remove stains and return your teeth to their original healthy color it is important to utilize a natural teeth whitening process.
When choosing a tooth whitener it is important to find a quality product. A poor quality teeth bleaching product can be costly as well as detrimental to the health of your mouth. Take the time to research before you buy. This will help you from making the mistake of purchasing a product which will produce inferior results.

Cost of Light Teeth Whitening
Friday, February 26th, 2010The cost of in-office light teeth bleaching seems to be a bit high for most people. Because of competition in the market, more dentists are lowering their fee in an attempt to attract more patients. While this reduction in price for the procedure is advantageous, the price of a single treatment can still run around 600 dollars.
The cost for a light teeth whitening depends on many factors. Some of which include the type of system used for the procedure, which products and tools are necessary, and how severely discolored the teeth are. Sometimes the cost of treatment also depends on the type of dentist who would perform the whitening, as well as the social climate of the area their offices are located in.
When it comes to light teeth whitening results and cost are not mutually exclusive. It is possible to get shiny, white teeth while still utilizing lower rates.
In addition, the market is inundated with many at-home products which can be used to achieve results at a lower cost in both cost and time. Again, it is simply a matter of looking around and finding the solution that works best for you.

Teeth Whitening vs. Teeth Bleaching
Monday, February 15th, 2010Often the terms Teeth Whitening is heard, while at other time Teeth Bleaching is the commonly used term. So which is correct? Are they the same thing, or are they separate treatments?
The term “bleach” means to whiten, so essentially the two terms are synonymous with the same procedure.
Having your teeth looking pearly white has been the goal for consumers since the first toothpastes were placed on the market. Over the years, people have diligently sought after products which promise to provide the bright, white smile desired. Sales of toothpastes have been increased simply by the promise of providing whiter teeth.
While getting a teeth whitening treatment done in at the dentists office has been a traditional method for getting pearly whites, today’s market is loaded with other at-home products that can provide the same results at a lower cost.
Results vary, and if you’re teeth are severely discolored it may require several treatments to achieve your desired whiteness. But excellent products are available that claim to be either whiteners or bleaches. In the end, it doesn’t matter what they are called, the results are the same. Whiter, brighter smiles.
